The sketch opposite shows a typical basic application where the DPM62VAB is being used to monitor the voltage and current in a simple circuit consisiting of three 12volt batteries in series giving >36volts.
As per the previous circuit BASIC2 the maximum supply voltage to the instrument is 28volts as shown. The maximum voltage which can be measured with this circuit is now 199.9volts.
The addition of the second positive connection is to allow the measurement of voltages above the instrument supply.
With this type of connection the positive voltage measurement is independent to the instrument supply although a common negative is still used.
